Doggie Date

So on Saturday one of Chris's Co-workers Julian asked us to bring Cocoa over to his house for a playdate with his new puppy Ellie, she's 10 weeks old and also a lab with a little mix of collie. They both need a good ass kicking by a bigger dog!!!! They played for hours and still never got tired... but they did play well so that's good for us since we though Cocoa is a beast. The reason why I say that is because last week at Puppy School she was by far the worst puppy in class... but hopefully this week she'll be better, since she's been playing with other dogs more this week. Trying to train a really well behaved dog is a full time job!!! I know Carly's laughing cause she has 2 kids and I talk about the dog as if she's my baby..... lol, but she is for now. Anyway, here are a few of pics from Saturday afternoon.

28 Lbs

So Cocoa went to the Vet this morning and had her shots, she is now 28Lbs... very heavy. We start puppy school tomorrow night!!! Which will be good because for the most part were the ones going to school to learn.. not her. All those puppies in the same room, she'll be pretty tired tomorrow night :) it will be a good night sleep. Here's a couple of pics from this morning after we got back.

COLD

Today is the coldest day we've had all winter... and boy is it cold. This morning it was -20 outside with a windchill of -34 degrees, it was so cold that there was steam rising off the ocean when I wento over the bridge this morning to get to work. Right now it's warmed up a little... -18 with a windchill of -30 degrees.. the sun is out and it's a little warmer :)

SNOW in January

I can't believe that we finally had snow.. I'm not exactly over excited to see it, but it's kinda nice to be reminded that it's actually winter. It was a slippery night last night, went home from work @ around 5:30pm.. the traffic wasn't too bad, I got home @ 6pm, which surprised me because the way everyone was talking I thought I was gonna be stuck here at work. When I came back over the bridge @ 8 to pick Chris up from work... the roads weren't too bad and there weren't that many cars on the rd. 4 trips over the bridge yesterday, I think that's my limit. I think that most of the snow will be gone again today anyway... raining now!!!!

iPhone

I love the new iPhone that Apple released, it's awesome. I want one really bad!!!!! But Aliant's Network doesn't support the phone yet, so it might be awhile. I think it's really cool and convienent.. Music, Movies, Internet and phone.... Pretty Cool.

New GPS

So Chris went out after Christmas and bought himself a GPS... he's been wanting it for a long time and since we travel a lot, the GPS would make life a little easier when were in bigger cities. I love it... it's really small and U can listen to music and everything on it. In fact since I'm new to the dartmouth area I use it for that..lol. It's the Mio C310X and it's the cutest GPS, very small, light weight, mountable on the car dash and very user friendly with all touch menus on the screen. I love it!!!! it's our newest toy.

Congrats

So congratulations to one of my best friends home in Newfoundland... Dawn and Taylor are expecting their second baby!!! Due in June. Maybe it will be a boy this time.. Hannah Banana is the cutest, but she really needs a brother. It was pretty cute how she told her family, they made up t-shirts for Hannah with "I'm gonna be A BIG SISTER!!!" it was pretty funny. She sent me the pics with the Christmas card of Hannah in her shirt, I thought it was a pretty cool way to tell people.

Splash, Splash I was taking a bath.... Here is a pic of Cocoa in the tub last night, she's a NUT when it comes to water. She barks to get in the tub... last night she went swiming in the tub. The pic is a little blurry, she wouldn't stay still and the batteries where dying in the camera.

A Leak

So on wednesday afternoon we packed up and went to Chris's parents house in the valley for the night. Cocoa included. We had a great dinner and spent some time with his brother as well... it was very nice, even had a few flakes of snow. We headed back home yesterday, only to find a puddle of water in the middle of the kitchen, with water also dripping out of the kitchen light... Oh god I thought, where in the hell is that coming from. After thinking for a minute I realized the washer and dryer is above it... so I went running up over the stairs, of course the intake on the back of the washer that is always on for hot/cold water was loose and was dripping just enough to make the floor wet and start dripping downstairs. We took off the light, everything is drying out and the hardwood isn't damaged too bad... in fact today it's started to dry out so it's settling backdown. Thank god we never stayed for another night, god only knows what we would of come home too. Everything is almost back to normal and between Chris and I... the Crisis was diverted :) I never had the landlord to call this time!!!!!! Had to fix it ourselves :)

Christmas Day

So I think this is very Blog worthy, Christmas Day I got off @ 3:30pm from work and rushed on home to Chris so we could open our presents.. since I was working all day. Santa was good to me this year even though I thought the house was my present!!!! I got my Japanese Santoku Knife, it's a chef's knife, a mandoline for slicing thinly and a red crock pot for baking stews and roasts. Well after we had all the presents opened.... we needed to find a place for supper, I thought maybe some places would still be open.... NOTHING, we ended up at the Irving Big Stop in Enfield for supper...lol. Today however I cooked turkey dinner in my new oven for the first time and it was awesome, I used the Convection option. Anyway, hope everyone is enjoying their holidays, I actually right now at work... working backshift tonight, then off for a couple of days.

Merry Christmas

Hope Everyone has an awesome Christmas. I'll be working all Christmas so not too much going on with me. Being the junior person in the group... I got the lucky opportunity to work Christmas. I guess I've been pretty lucky, this is actually the first Christmas I've had to work since I've been with Aliant (5 Christmas's)... and the $$$$$$ will be very good. Infact it will probably pay for Christmas no problem. I have Boxing day off, so Chris and I will have our turkey dinner then, Christmas supper will probably be take out..lol. We will be going to the valley to see Chris's parents on the 27th in the afternoon, since I'm working backshift the night before and need some sleep first. Well hope everyone has a great holiday and I hope to see you all in the New Year for a visit to our new house.

Close To Christmas

So it's really close to Christmas, I can't believe it's almost here. I'm actually not that excited this year, I'm working most of the holidays... which kinda sucks, first house and working, but on the brightside Christmas pay is good $$$$. I'm at work today until midnight, I haven't been here in a few days, I've been sick with a cheast/lung infection. Lucky ME!!! Anyway, I've got lots of time tonight, so I think I'll finish up my Christmas Cards.. so I can get them in the mail on monday, I've already got a bunch sent last week. I've also got all my supplies for cookies this year and plan to make them this week, I'm off mon-wed so I'll finish shopping and baking. Also have a few Christmas presents to make.. Centerpieces for the table made with real boughs, they are pretty nice and make the house smell nice. I haven't got all my Christmas shopping finished!!! How about U guys????? I've been pretty busy. Anyway, Hope everyone has an excellent Chirstmas, I'll update with some tree house pics in the next few days.

Finally

Finally We are in our new house @ 46 Coldstream Run. We are very tired and exhausted from yesterday ..long day even though the movers did all the work, just a lot of running around to do. Anyway, Just wanted to tell everyone we are in... pictures will be coming soon. I'm on vacation until the 13th of December and my parents will be here sunday with Cocoa. I promise I'll have pictures soon.

Cocoa's First PhotoShoot

Here is a pic from Cocoa's first photoshoot with my sister who is a photographer, I think this picture is adorable. I can't wait to get her this weekend when my parents come. This picture came about because the puppy started lying in my mothers antique bowl on the bottom shelf of the Island in the kitchen.... fearing the safety of the bowl my mother removed the bowl, now Cocoa lies on the shelf and takes naps while mom is cooking. My parents have her soooo spoiled. I think the pic would look nice in the kitchen.. lol.

Almost There!!!!

So In less than a week the house will be finished, we met with the builder today and went throught the house. It was so nice to finally see the inside, we haven't been inside since the frame and everything was roughed in. Everything was to our liking, we are now excited again to be moving into our new house. The builder says he should be able to turn the house over to us on Tuesday end of the day, I'm so excited to finally have the house. 1 more week and Cocoa will finally be here along with my parents. Well that's all for now, lots of packing ... actually way too much packing. I can't belive we are almost there!!!!!!

Delays, Delays, Delays.......

So, our house is not going to be completed on time as previous quoted by the builder.. we definatly will not be in the house on Friday the 24th as planned. The new date is Nov 30th.... which has put us in a kaotic and frustrating position. My parents were coming on Sat the 25th with the new puppy, both Chris and I had our vacation booked, and we had so many companies delivering to the house it's not funny. I'm pretty upset and pissed at the same time. I guess I shouldn't of been so nieve, but our builder never gave us any indication that he needed more time until friday. We now have the Crisis diverted, we have changed my parents flights, which means one more week without Cocoa. Tomorrow morning I'll sleep after backshift.. then change all the dates tomorrow with EVERYONE!!!! Then I have to go and beg my manager to change my vacation AGAIN.... Oh, well I guess when we are finally in this all will be a distant memory of the past. Things will work out and we will be on our way to Christmas. Wish us luck!!!

Christmas is coming!!!

Before you know it Christmas will be here, last night was the Holiday Christmas Parade of Lights, we weren't really ready in time to go down cause I wasn't feeling well after backshift yesterday morning, so I slept all afternoon... and had a late supper/breakfast. Tired

So it's almost time for me to go home.. thank god, I can't wait to go to sleep in my own bed. Last night was the start of my 7 backshifts in a row.... and a 11 day stretch I'm starting with no days off in between. But when it's all over... I'll be on vacation and in my house with our new puppy. I'm so excited I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!!! Here are a few new pics of Cocoa, she's soooooo adorable. My Parents got her yesterday, the 2 week stretch is here... the countdown starts :)

Happy Birthday To ME

So today is my Birthday!!!! I'm 26 :) It's been a good weekend, last night Chris and I went to his aunt's house in Dartmouth and had dinner, cake and a PARTY. Lots of wine and Beer. This morning I slept in and Chris got up early.. he went out and got strawberries, blackberries and flowers to go with the breakfast he cooked for me. Breakfast consisted of Bacon, pancakes, lots of fresh berries and coffee.. it was awesome. Oh, and the flowers were a big bouquet of orange lilies. It was a very nice day. I've added a few pics including my baby b-day cake we got today, I was craving cup-cakes with butter cream icing, so the closet we could find was a baby b-day cake with butter cream icing. YUM. Hope everyone is having a great long weekend :) I sure am.

No more Fish

So, it's official my fish are now gone. I spent my day off on monday taking the tank apart and cleaning it out. Wasn't that fun, the big fish were hard to catch.... very fast. Anyway, it's all done now and they are living in their new house @ Patrick's. It will be one last thing I'll have to take care of when we finally move into the new house... I'm betting the dog will be enough for me to handle. Anyone with kids right now is defintly laughing at me.. lol. :) I'll miss the little creatures and my planted tank, but not the weekly water changes.

Just Packing & Relaxing

The only thing I did this weekend that was exciting was pack... lol. We started packing up boxes of stuff in the apartment, the time to the house closing is getting closer then we think. They are painting this week, so as far as we know things are on schedule. The fish tank is being taken apart tomorrow and the plants and fish are going to their new home at Patrick's.. since I'm off tomorrow and should probably take advantage of the day for packing and getting ready for the move. Will have more updated pictures of Cocoa soon. My parents get her on the 13th of Nov and then she will be here with Chris and I in our new house on the 25th. We are very excited and can't wait for everything to be over with. Tonight is the Patriots vs. Colts game... should be very interesting... go Patriots. Hope everyone had a good weekend it was cold out but nice.

EastSide

So tonight for supper we met Chris's good friends Jenn and Nathan at EastSide Marios downtown. It was my first time meeting them, they moved back from Toronto and are living in Yarmouth now. Very nice people, we all had a very good time. I had a really yummy meal, Seafood Linguine it was excellent. Now I'm home watching multiple episodes of "Lost", Chris is gone to work.. working the backshift for the next couple of days. We visited the house today.. looks like things are coming along, the insulation is in and ready for gyp-rock. Less than a month to go and we will be in
there !!!!! I'm so excited. Hope everyone has a good night, I'm sure there are some Halloween Parties going on out there.. BOO to everyone.

Boxes, Boxes and More Boxes

Chris went yesterday and picked up boxes to start packing..... there are so many. I definatly know what I'll be doing all weekend, I'm gonna start packing up some of the stuff that we don't use right now. The more that gets done the better. 1 month away from Cocoa's arrival in Halifax. :)

RELAXED

This weekend was a relaxing weekend, it was awesome, Chris and I never had any obligations just to relax and have fun. Ryan was over on Friday night and I made BBQ pizza and him and Chris chatted about the stock market and making $$$$. Ryan is now interested in starting into the stocks as well. Saturday evening I cooked Chinese food, won-ton soup and chow mein.. it was yummy. We then headed to a Birthday Party for Chris's uncle, the entire family was there.. it was nice. I even had a couple of beers and too my surprise my stomach held up and I felt fine, it was a great feeling :) Sunday was football day and roast beef dinner.... Go patriots, they won of course... beating Buffalo. Go Brady !!!!!!

The Count down is on!!! exactly a month from tomorrow and the house closes, I'm crossing my fingers that everything goes according to plan. It's gonna be a busy month, and I'm working like crazy. Hope everyone has a good week, I'm hoping to have updated pics of little baby Cocoa by the weekend, and maybe some new house pics too.

Working Weekend

The whole weekend Chris and I have been working.. him 12 hour days and me 8 hour days, so needless to say the weekend hasen't been very exciting. Next weekend should be better we are both off, it will be nice to relax. It's getting closer to the house closing.. I can't wait, crossing my fingers that everything is done ontime. :) Gotta get back to work, pretty busy weekend. Hope everyone enjoys the nice fall day today.. it's sunny outside.

Here is a few pictures of my little puppy Cocoa, in all the pics she is the darkest chocolate one. The mother had 8 puppies 6 yellow and 2 chocolate labs.. all female except 1 male. My parents went on saturday to take some pictures for Chris and I since we were dying to see the little girl.

Finally Sunday Shopping!!!!

Ok so finally Nova Scotia is with the rest of the Country and world... sunday shopping finally exisits here too. It just makes things easier for people who have to work all week long, and then cram it all in on saturday.. now u can do it on sunday if U wish to do so. I'm very excited and feel like Nova Scotia finally has taken a step forward instead of backwards. The government finally realized that the issue was not going away and that they couldn't stop the inevitable. See U at the supermarket, mall or where-ever this sunday!!! shopping.. shopping and more shopping :)

FrostBite

I think today might be my last day for sandals... I've been hanging on to the possibility that it's not that cold outside in the mornings, except for this morning they felt like they had frostbite walking to work. It pains me to wear shoes and socks, but I guess I have no choice.. the only good thing about it is that now I get to go buy a new pair of shoes :)

My Puppy is born

Finally after waiting since Aug, my little puppy was born yesterday. I feel like it's my baby.. lol, I know crazy huh!!! She/he is a Chocolate Lab and I can't wait to see pics of them. My parents are going to visit them on sat so I'll have some baby pics then. I'm sooooooooooo excitied.. mom, dad and the little puppy will be arriving on nov 25th the day after the house closes. :)

Travel Bug

For the last 2 years Chris and I have not spent more then 3 consecutive months at home without taking a trip somewhere .... it's been since July now and we haven't traveled anywhere. We are both itching to go away, but with the house stuff it's just not in our budget right now. I can't wait until things are settled again so we can take a trip somewhere.... I'm missing Santa Monica California right now. We went last year in nov for my birthday, oh well I guess a house and a dog will have to do.. lol. It just seems like the past couple of weeks everything on TV is california and vegas.... both places that I loved when we were there. I guess watching it on TV will have to do for now.
