Other big news, we finally have a SOLD sign on our old townhouse! So Merry Christmas to us :) Things are always busy with our lives, but with Reno's on the way hopefully there will be some before and after pics to come.

Overdue Honeymoon to Maui

Chris and I took our Honeymoon the beginning of April to Maui, it was an amazing experience and I loved spending every minute with him. We drove the coast to Hana on the east side of the island where everything is lush and it's like driving through a rain forest. We stayed on the west side of the island on kaanapali beach at the Westin, it was beautiful. We went snorkeling and seen some awesome coral and fish and enjoyed watching the surfers everyday while driving the coast in our convertible Mustang. We also took a helicopter ride of the west side of Maui and an island nearby with some of the highest cliffs in the world it was amazing. Driving to the summit of Haleakala crater at 10,000 feet up was crazy, being above the clouds was like nothing I have ever experience before and the vegetation up there was very different. The food was excellent and the big thing for the locals is the mixed plate which consists of bbq meats like teriyaki chicken, beef, grilled fish and ribs served along side of 2 scoops of sticky rice and macaroni salad. It was some of the best food I've had on vacation. Maui has so much to offer from the beach, the views, relaxation or the food. Amazing experience and I'm so glad I got to enjoy it with my husband.

Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games

So the Para Olympic games are almost over and I've been home for almost 2 weeks already, I was in Vancouver working the Olympic games with Bell as a Network Surveillance technician. It was an amazing experience and I got to share that experience with my husband Chris who also worked the same position. It was a chance of a life time opportunuity and I enjoyed every minute of it. For those of you who have me on facebook I have some pictures posted there, but here is the link for those who want to take a look.

For the techie peeps here is a link to a site from one of my Olympic colleagues who I met while working in the Olympic technology operations centre. That shows all the cables and some of the Olympic venues.

Here is a picture of the Technology Operation centre team, a small group of the many people who helped deliver "flawless games" to the entire world. Without everyone in this picture 3 billion people wouldn't of been able to watch and cheer on our athletes from all corners of our country and the world.

This was and probably will be one of the most amazing experiences of my life, all the people, places and things that I got to do was incredible. From attending speed skating, figure skating, snowboading half-pipe (chris went to this event) and the dress rehersal of the opening ceremonies, to the amazing number of people who partied downtown in Vancouver. Canada and Bell showed the world what it means to be World Class and I am full of pride to know that I played a small part in a piece of Canadian history.

New Backyard

So we've been pretty busy lately ripping up the backyard, we figured since the dog kills the grass every year to just get rid of it. We created 2 flower beds that will be filled in soon and mulched, and an area with "pea" gravel.. for Cocoa and her needs, and now I don't have to look at patchy grass. I'll post more pics of everything soon, there are lots of changes going on, lots of busy weekends ahead of us.

This is a pic last spring when we were just starting the backyard, unfortunately I never took a pic before we started last weekend.

Here is the after pic last weekend, I have to top up the flower beds with soil, get the plants in and mulch it. I'm so much happier with the space now and no nasty grass, plus no more mowing...ha.

It's all still a work in progress, but I'm pretty happy with the results so far.. I'll try and post some updates soon.
