All Coming Together!!!

So we met with the data wiring guy today for all the rough-ins of the security system, data, voice and every possible wire that can be ran throughout the house. So far things are moving along pretty good.... I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it closes on Nov 24th, since my parents and the new puppy arrive the next day. We still have a lot of stuff to do before Nov, but thank god we have until Nov..... because the time is flying. Hope eveyone is having a great weekend and enjoying the beautiful weather.

Sitting at work

So this week we took a walk through the house on monday with the electrician, and figured out how many lights we needed to buy, which were ALOT!!!!! It all should look very nice. It took 2 days to pick out all the lights, since we got tired and frustrated the first night at Kent, then last night we finished it all in about 45 min like pros. Thank god that's over, only appliances left.... Nov 24th is getting closer :) I'm so excited, but have so much work to do. I'm working evenings for the next few days, so not too much gonna be going on with me. The Rolling Stones concert has streets blocked off and everyone in Kasis for a few days. Oh well should be a good time for the suckers who decided to buy a ticket... it's supposed to rain tomorrow, I'm sure they will all have a great time anyway. Well I'm gonna go and pray that I have a nice quiet night, hope everyone has a great weekend and enjoys the last day of summer!!!!!

Toll MegaHurtz Team Photo

Busy Weekend

Besides the weather this weekend, it was an awesome couple of days.

Ball Tournament

Saturday was the Aliant Ball Tournament, it was long and tiring, but we all had an awesome time. We played 3 back to back games starting @ 9am in the morning. We won the first one and beat the 2nd place team in the league... us being in second last place that was an accomplishment. The second game we lost by 2 runs and the 3rd Game we got blown out by Mobility.. but we didin't care, by that point is was like 28 degrees with the humidex and we were tired and sore. We had a team BBQ and party at Adam's house who is the team captain, good times were had by all.. too much home brew.

LUCKY

So friday night we had a knock on the door at midnight, I didn't want to answer it and neither did Chris so we ignored it. Anyway, on sat morning we got up and were heading out the door to find someone had stashed a pile of beer cases next to the our door. I wanted to move them, but of course Chris said don't bother they aren't ours. When we got home @ 2 in the afternoon they were still there, after some nagging from me.. I got Chris to go out and move them. To his surprise they were all FULL, one case not even open. So we had free beer, Chris thought it was the best day of his life.. LOL, 20 free Corona.... we couldn't believe it.

FootBall

Yesterday was the 2nd game of the season for the Patriots they played off against the NY Jets , the Patriots won 24-17. It was a good game, and we enjoyed a homemade roast beef dinner that I cooked. It was yummy and we enjoyed the beautiful weather, the weekend was awesome.

House Update

Today Chris and I took a ride over to Dartmouth to see how the house was coming along, the windows were being put in.. actually it looked like they were almost completly finished with installing them. Monday sept 18th we have a walkthrough with the electrican and the builder to decide where outlets and find out how many lights we have to pickout. Then I guess getting the lights/fixtures is the next project. Tomorrow evening it's off to Leons to pick out some new leather furniture :) I can't wait. It's very exciting and I can't stop talking about it, but I don't care because I am so happy right now. I'll take a new pic soon so U can see the update to the outside.

Ball Tournament
Saturday is the ball tournament. It should be fun and exhausting all at the same time. We have 3 back to back games that start @ 9am on sat morning. Oh well by 10 most of the guys will be drunk anyway...lol. Then it's a party and BBQ sat evening at Adams house. Should be a good time. I'll post some pics if they aren't too incriminating :) Everyone have a good weekend.

Ryan & Stephs Apartment

So Saturday night Chris and I went to Dartmouth to visit Ryan and Steph in their new apartment. It was nice, and Ryan seems sooooo happy, I'm very happy for both of them. It was nice to get to visit, I haven't seen Ryan in such a long time.. well since he moved from our apartment building. Anyway, we had lots of catch up on.. I ended up with a dry throat from all talking :) believe it or not...lol.

Patriots WIN !!!!

So yesterday was the season opener for the New England Patriots, they played the Buffalo Bills. It was a good game, and the pats won over the bills 19-17.. a little too close for comfort. It was a nice day, we relaxed and watched football allday. Can't wait until next sunday... I'm such a nerd now when it comes to football. I was starting to get into it a couple of years ago, then we went to see a playoff game in New England, Patriots vs. Colts, it was amazing and I've been hooked ever since. Which is lucky for Chris.. his girlfriend loves the game, so no nagging on sundays :) Here's a pic of Tom Brady the quarter back for the Patriots, he's sooo cute!!!

House Stuff

Tuesday evening we went to the flooring spot and picked out the flooring. It came with Birch hardwood, so we have that covering the enitre main level and stairs. The front entry way is ceramic as well as the 3 bathrooms, and upstairs in the bedrooms is low berber carpet. I'm not a fan of carpet, but it's a lot to upgrade!!! The basement isn't finished, so we don't have to worry about that right now.

Last Night was counter top and cabinets :) We have picked out white cabinets, 3 glass doors and a textured countertop, it looks like a granite. Eventually we will have the Island built and have a granite top, but for now we are excluding the Island since they want $2000.00 plus tax for the Island and I can get it built by his brother for cheaper. It was fun to pick out the different colours and stuff. The Master bathroom has almost like a marble look counter top, and the main bath a granite look as well. I am so excited, it was pretty fun.

ok that's enough for now, I don't want to bore everyone with my house stuff... I'm just so excited I can't help it !!!!!!

IT'S FRIDAY

Thank god that it's FINALLY friday!! Although it's been a short week, it feels like it dragged on forever. I'm so tired and exhausted, I need sleep and I have a nice comfy bed calling my name to sleep in tomorrow :) It should be a nice weekend, Chris and I are going to go visit Ryan and Steph in their new apartment over in Dartmouth. I can't wait to visit with them, it's been way too long. Sunday is a veg day since the first "Patriots" game is being played... can't wait for that. I know I'm a retard I love Football :) Of course we will also go visit the house too, just to see what progress was made this week. Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Fall is So Close

I know everyone will agree that fall is getting closer and closer everyday... either it's the leaves turning colour or the fact that it's starting to get dark @ 7:30pm, it's very disappointing. If your like me and love Fall then you are welcoming the cool sunny days ahead, which is a change from the hot and humidity of summer. I know I'm crazy!!!! Fall is actually just another excuse to buy clothes (I know Carly will defintly agree with that). I don't know how many of U have been to the Joseph Howe SuperStore lately, but I've been buying clothes there for a while now. It's great I can pick up groceries and something to wear all in one place. I love it!!!!! The clothes are really nice and the prices are awesome, so U don't feel so guilty when spending $$$$. Well it's such a nice day I think I will go for a walk at lunch.. so everyone enjoy the nice day. Oh, and don't forget to pick up groceries, well actually forget the groceries and buy something nice for yourself :)

Happy Anniversay

Well I got to say " Happy Anniversay" to Chris and myself, Saturday was our 2 year anniversay... I can't believe that it's been that long. Chris worked sat and so did I so we celebrated today, I cooked up a Mexican feast.

The Menu included: (Of course everything was made from scratch)
-Guacamole
-Fresh Salsa
-Chimmy Chongas
-Mexican Rice
-Refried Beens
-Mango fruit salad

Everything was so delicious and we even had a little Mexican music playing to
help the mood... it was so nice, defintly the next place I want to vacation. Oh.. and the food was SPICY. :)

Nice Weekend

Well this weekend was nice and relaxing, I did some OT on sat for a project we had going on in the dept. It was easy $$$ so I couldn't refuse, since I need every penny I can get now. Of course the last couple of weeks have been nothing but maddness and I've been a nervous wreck, house stuff sucks. The picking out of the cabinets were fun until I got the quote and almost shit my pants, defintly gonna have to cut some stuff out of that. Financing has been a nightmare but we finally have things ironed out. I'll be happy when I'm in the house and can put the next 3 months behind me... so U ask what else have I been up to... NOTHING, this house is consuming all my time. Oh, well it will be all worth it in the end. We drove over yesterday to visit and they are putting the brick on now, things are coming along good. Their little dirty secret to building is that there are sooooo many extra costs and fees. Soon it will be Nov 24th and we will be in, thank god. I won't be sorry to have all this stuff taken care of.

ColdStream Run, Dartmouth

Here's the back of the house, the second one from the left hand side......
Our house is the one from the right hand side, the second one in the middle. The pic below is what it will look like when it's finished.

I'm very excited for tomorrow!! we get to meet with the builder and find out more info about the inside of the house, and pick out some of the cabinets, flooring and lighting. I can't wait... it's really bad to say but I can't wait until fall.. to be more specific nov 24th when hopefully our house will be ready for us to take the keys. Here are a few pics that we took the other day.. the roof is almost finished now, those contractors work fast. The pics might not be completly clear they were taken with my camera phone.

Great Weekend

I had a good weekend, Chris and I went to the Valley for a night to spend sometime with his parents and family at the cottage. It was a nice sunny day but the wind was off the lake and it was cool... we lit the woodstove in the cottage and had some drinks. The wind died down later in the evening and we had a bbq for supper and I drank a bottle of wine :) Today we picked up some blueberries, peaches and plums grown in the valley.. yum.

Not Official, but Almost !!!!

So Chris and I signed on the dotted line on wednesday night, we bought a townhouse over in Dartmouth in Russell Lake West. It's a new subdivision being built on the lake.. the lake is literally 100 feet from the back of the patio, all that separates us is a greenbelt of trees. I'm so excited. The roof is just being put on the one that we are purchasing, so it won't be ready until Novemeber 24th, but I guess it's a nice birthday present/xmas gift all in one. I'll take it!!!

Here is the link to the area if U want to check it out

I'm sure I will keep you updated with pics of the construction to the point that you won't want to see another picture of the place..lol.

This weekend we are going to the valley to visit with Chris's parents, we haven't seen them in a while and haven't been anywhere in a long time, we both have been working opposite shifts and long tiring backshifts. So it will be nice to go down and visit and spend some time at the cottage and with his family. Hope everyone has a great weekened, it's supposed to be nice and sunny.

House Viewing

Yesterday was my last backshift, I can't believe I got through all 7 of them. Hopefully I won't have to do them anymore this year. Today we are going to go view another house, we've been looking and viewing all week. These houses are brand new on Russell Lake West in Dartmouth, they are really nice townhouses and they are on the lake with walking trails. I love them so far, we are going to see the model home today.. oh and they have natural gas which is awesome because now I can have a gas range for the kitchen. Well I'm crossing my fingers that we like it, because we are looking to be moved in for Nov 1st. :) I am so excited, I'll keep U updated on how the viewing goes.

The Baby is on his way!!!!

Well my mother called me this past weekend, and asked me if I wanted to order my Chocolate Lab puppy... of course I want to get him, I've been waiting for that moment for a long time. My grandfathers brother breeds labs in Newfoundland, and this is the last time he is bredding his chocolate lab. Oh, my god I'm gonna have a puppy in a few months, I can't believe it. Needless to say the push for a house is on now. The baby dog will be ready for Chris and I in November, so we are searching for a house for the three of us :) I'm so excited, but know that they are a lot of work... but I don't care about that, they are way too cute. Well gonna go and wait for the guys to get in, so I can head home and sleep.

First Backshift

Well I made it through my first backshift, it's almost over.. now only 6 more nights to go. It isn't as hard as I expected, but I am very tired. I will sleep all day today... zzzzzzzzzzzz
