Happy 28th Anniversary

I want to say Happy Anniversary today to my Mom and Dad they have been married 28 years today. I would only hope that half as many peoples marriages last that long and the world would be a better place. Anyway, not much going on with me working my last evening shift this week.. and then I finally get to relax this weekend and spend sometime with Chris. He's still not feeling well, got sick on vacation and today he feels pretty bad. Hopefully he will be better tomorrow, I want to go and get some blueberries and I've got a bunch of errans to run. Hope everyone enjoys the sun this weekend.

It's gonna be a long week

Vacation was over on sunday and monday it was back to work. Work has been really busy and I'm still fuzzy from vacation, the last 2 days trying to concentrate was impossible or remember anything that I've learned before vacation. I'm working until 10pm everynite so I won't have much to say for the week.. unless something very interesting happens. Well going to go workout before I have to go to work, hope everyone has a good week.

Back in Halifax, vacation is over !!!

Saturday evening @ 5.30 we got back in Halifax. Vacation was good, it was nice and relaxing and the weather co-operated. Lots of swiming, eating and visiting took place and of course RELAXATION :) Chris ended up not feeling well from like tuesday to saturday so that kinda sucked, but we still had a good time. It was nice to see everyone and especially my dog Kieley, well my dads dog..lol. We had a few fires lit in the firepit where we roasted marshmallows, had homemade bread toasted and good old bologna bbqd over open flame. Lots of swiming was done, and trying to stay cool and out of the sun was impossible. Hard to believe that I have to go back to work again tomorrow, but it's all good I'm working evenings so I'll get to sleep in and be home again around 10pm each nite.. not too bad. I have some pics of my parents house and garden attached, we never did any tourist stuff this year... Chris seen most of it last year. Oh, and we visited Dawn and Hannah Banana in Mount Pearl, she is growing like a weed. Going to go and fold the last load of laundry... it feels like a hundred loads. Hope everyone has a good week. Vacation In Newfoundland

It's the middle of the week and vacation is almost over :( A few more days and I'll be back in Halifax again. The last few days all we have been doing is visiting, enjoying some sun, swimming and lots of EATING!!!!!! Will have some pics to post when I get back. Thats all for now, using good old dial-up and having a hot chocolate. Just got out of the swiming pool and the water is 35 degrees :) it's awesome. Blogging returns again next week, stay tuned for pictures from the trip.

HOT day!!!

What a nice HOT and sunny day today was. Chris and I woke up around 10am... it was so good to sleep in and be on VACATION :) We went out and done errans this afternoon to Bayers Lake before we fly out tomorrow.. it was soooo nice outside, I couldn't wait to get back and enjoy some sun. We went for a walk on the waterfront when we got back, it was nice, there was a lot of people out and about. The cool breeze off the ocean was refreshing as well, it was a help to cool off. We ended up at the Italian place @ Bishops landing for some Gelato, we both got the Trimisu Gelato.. yummy. It was pizza on the BBQ for supper then off packing we went.. getting ready for our week in newfoundland. I'm now really sleepy, waiting for the last load of laundry to finish before I can complete the packing of the suitcases. We fly out tomorrow @ 11am and arrive in Newfoundland @ 1pm. It's supposed to be cold this week... I'm hoping things will turn around. Well that's all for now, I should be able to update while I'm away, if not see everyone next weekend. I'll have pictures and with any luck a tan!!!!!!

7 Hours until Vacation

Sitting here @ work, hoping that today isn't too busy and counting down the hours until vacation. in 7 hours i'm off until the 24th :) on sunday we are flying to newfoundland and returning on saturday the 22nd. I'm going to try to keep updating as often as possible, but you know.. all the swimming, walking the dog, bbqing and relaxation might get in the way. I'm crossing my fingers that the weather is nice, but I don't care either way.. the pool temp is like 35 degrees, so I'm sure I'll stay warm. Let the countdown continue.... 7 hours to go :)

Rain, Rain and more Rain

Despite a Rainfall warning I still needed my morning coffee. I just got back from break with Ted, we walked to Irving. I knew it was raining today and it's was gonna be heavy at times, but man we got soaked. I had my umbrella so it wasn't too bad, but I felt like a kid when the water was so high it came over my feet ... of course I'm wearing sandals so my feet are very wet. It was well worth it though, I'm addicted to the Banana bread at Irving. It's the best banana bread I have ever tasted, I have to admit even better then mine..lol. It was fresh this morning so the walk in the heavy rain was worth it. I'm ashamed to say I'm glad it's raining today, nice break from the hot sun yesterday and I'm so tired, I didn't want to play ball tonight.. well thanks to mother nature the fields are so wet the only ones out are ducks. Everyone have a good day, 1 more day until vacation :)

Long Day

So today after a long day at work Patrick and I went apartment shopping for more stuff for his new one bedroom apartment. We went shopping @ superstore on Joseph Howe Dr, it was fun. I actually got to go up and down all the houseware sections, we sent approx 2 1/2 hours there. Wow that sounds insane. Chris got off work @ 8pm so we had to be finished by then... we got back in time to pick him up. Got home and started supper.... chris lit the BBQ and I got the salad ready, what we didn't know was the PROPANE was out...lol. So the pork souvlaki had to be cooked inside on the grill, oh well by 8.15 I really didn't care how it was cooked, I was starved!!!! I'm now getting ready to relax, we are watching the Allstar Baseball game... Go big Papi :) Only a few more days until vacation.. nite.

Weekend in the Valley

Saturday morning we go up and ate breakfast.. homemade blueberry pancakes, bacon and coffee.. it was yummy. Then we got ready and headed for the valley to visit with Chris's parents, well his father anyway. Chris's mom was in Cape Breton for the weekend. We stopped along the way and visited Chris's brother and Lacey and there new house, very nice. We arrived in Anapolis around 3 o'clock and hung out on the back deck where I finally got some sun, I actually got a minor sunburn. Then we decided to go for a drive through the valley, get an ice cream then back to the house for supper. After a nice supper we headed out again, this time to the cottage on the lake for some relaxation. It was beautiful, we got to watch the sunset, I drank a bottle of wine and then we retired for the night. This morning we got up in search of some strawberries at the U-pick but it was closed and it started to rain.. so no strawberries, but the raspberries will be soon out so YUM. I'm very tired so just relaxing now... this time next weekend I'll be in newfoundland on vacation :)

It's Friday

This week has felt sooooooo long, but in fact it was only 4 days. The weather is beautiful now which makes going to work everyday suck, cause I just want to stay home and enjoy the sun. Tomorrow we are going to get to enjoy the sun, we are heading to the Valley to visit Chris's parents and spend some time @ the cottage on the lake. So hopefully it will be as nice as the forecast is calling for. I defintly want to get more strawberries too, we will be back sunday so I should have some nice pics when I get back. Well gonna go and relax and SLEEP IN tomorrow :) can you tell I'm excitied!!!! Good nite.

A little of everything

I didn't know what to title this entry so... your gonna get bits and pieces of everything.
I was off yesterday feeling really crappy, really bad stomach. I wish the Doctors would find out whats going on 1 1/2 years and still no real diagnosis... they say ulcer, but not completly sure. It's driving me insane. Today work is quiet, so .. SO far so good. I'm getting my hair cut tonight :) but no drastic changes, i'm too chicken. Looking forward to the weekend, Chris and I are both off. We are going to the Valley to visit his parents and spend some time @ the cottage, so hopefully I will get a tan.. this pastie white skin doesn't look healthy. I'm also hoping that the exposure to nature will help my stress level.. work and this new job is stressing me to death. Hope everyone has a good day... and tonight I'll have a fresh new haircut. I'm also going to visit Patrick in his new apartment :)

Shopping For Summer

Today was a beautiful day, I really didn't want to go shopping but I really needed new summer clothes. So I headed to MicMac Mall to get some new clothes for some fun in the sun. What I didn't expect was that everyone had the same idea... the place was packed it was CRAZY, I must of been out of my mind to stay, but I did and there were sooooo many sales. I managed to get a lot of new summer clothes :) I'm just relaxing now enjoying a little ME time, Chris is working backshift tonight so he won't be home until tomorrow morning. Gotta go " Treasure Hunters" is on, it's my new favorite show!!! Hope everyone had a great long weekend, 2 weeks until vacation home in Newfoundland.

Happy Canada Day

Hope everyone is enjoying the sun. I've been relaxing allday, chris has been working allday he gets off @ 8pm then hopefully we will go for a walk down on the waterfront to enjoy the rest of the evening together. I've basically done nothing today it's been awesome, slept in, did some house work, worked out and sat in the sun all afternoon. I think on our walk tonight we will get some Gelato @ the Italian spot at Bishop's landing.. very YUMMY. :)

FRIDAY... Then a Nice long Weekend

It's Friday!! I'm so excited, feels like I've been working for weeks, but in fact I had a short week cause I worked last sat and was off sun/mon. OH well it's been the week from HELL here in the Data Operations group @ Toll. I'll be looking forward to relaxing tonight. Chris has to work the entire weekend 2 twelve hour days and 2 twelve hour nights ( 8pm-8am) which kinda puts the brakes on any holiday plans... we were gonna go to Boston, but unfortuantly Aliant had other plans :( oh well maybe some other time this summer. We have booked our tickets too for vacation to Newfoundland, I'll be home on the 16th-22nd of July. My parents are excited and so are we... I can't wait to see my dog "Kieley". Hope everyone has a good weekend and get out and enjoy the sun. " Happy Canada Day Weekend"

I GOT ON BASE

Tonight was a success, I finally made it to first base. Although our team lost tonight to the "Hummers" I accomplished a lot.. I've been frustrated not getting on base.. but tonight the slump ended, I finally helped the team out... it was a close game 10-8. I'm very tired, need a shower and a smoothie :) Nite.

Exhausted!!!

I'm trying to recover today from the workday from Hell yesterday. I got into work and we were short so many people... there wasn't enough people in to count, needless to say it sucked really bad. But I got threw it and hopefully today will be a better day. After work yesterday I got home and cooked supper really fast, I had promised Patrick that I would take him shopping for stuff for his new place. Oh, yeah Patrick and Ryan are moving into their own apartments, Ryan is going to live with Stephanie. I can't believe it!!!! Patrick is still staying in our building just in a one bedroom apartment, actually facing the same view as my previous apartment I had... should be really nice. We went to Bayers Lake and by 8:30pm we were done.. thank god, I hate shopping. Got home and Chris was watching the Red Sox game on the computer and listening to the same game on the radio... lol. What a red sox nut!! Hope everyone has a good day... and hopefully tonight at our ballgame the Toll Mega Hertz will win.... let's hope. :)

Strawberries

Today was a great day Chris and I were both off. We slept in and I cooked breakfast, bacon, eggs, toast and coffee.. YUM. Then we got ready and headed to the Valley in search of a U-Pick for stawberries. We first stopped in wolfville and went to the lookout... U can see the entire valley from up there it was beautiful. I've got a pic of it... but it's a little dark, taken with my phone. We then went to find a U-pick... driving through Wolfville and then New Minas, not finding one that was open. We stopped @ a couple of farmers markets.. they were still selling the local stawberries for 3.50$... so we kept driving. We ended up getting them for 2.19$ a quart @ "Averey's so we bought 3 quarts... they were by far the best stawberries we have had since last year in California @ the outdoor farmers market. I love stawberries. We got back around 4, had some supper then out to the basketball court to shoot some hoops, except it was already filled up, so we ended up at Point Pleasant park for a walk. I'm pretty tired now going to go and relax, have a snack and sleep... have a good nite :)

Rainy Day Again

So of course it's the weekend and it's raining again.... what else is new. I worked yesterday so that wasn't so bad, I was off today and again tomorrow.. hopefully it will be sunny. I never did too much today just stuff around the apartment and cooked Chris's favorite rainy day food "Beef Stew" for supper with Red Wine. We then went for a drive to look at areas for houses.. tonight we went out towards Waverly, Fall River and Enfield. It's pretty frustrating we can't find anything that we like @ all. Tomorrow weather permitting I want to go to the valley to pick some stawberries, hopefully the weather will co-operate. Have a good night.. I'm off to fold what seems like the 100th load of laundry today.

Sunday Shopping

So tomorrow is the last sunday that the grocery stores will be able to open if the government gets there way. They closed the loop hole that the stores were using to open on sundays. I think it's ridiculous... are we the only province in the country with no sunday shopping???? We need to get with the times, this is the year 2006. Every person who is against sunday shopping better go to church every sunday, since they think it's such a holy day. Anyway, I'll be out tomorrow to get my groceries since today I'm working on a saturday. Hopefully the public will speak up and help the big stores remain open, I don't think anyone can argue that the demand is there. Well so far @ work it's pretty quiet..... I hope it stays that way until 4:30. Tonight is gonna be a lazy night, Chris is working until 8 and I need to work out really bad, I can't wait to sleep in tomorrow... long overdue. Maybe if it's nice we will go for a walk on the waterfront. Everyone have a good sat and enjoy the weekend!!!!
