Great Weekend
I had a good weekend, Chris and I went to the Valley for a night to spend sometime with his parents and family at the cottage. It was a nice sunny day but the wind was off the lake and it was cool... we lit the woodstove in the cottage and had some drinks. The wind died down later in the evening and we had a bbq for supper and I drank a bottle of wine :) Today we picked up some blueberries, peaches and plums grown in the valley.. yum.

Not Official, but Almost !!!!

So Chris and I signed on the dotted line on wednesday night, we bought a townhouse over in Dartmouth in Russell Lake West. It's a new subdivision being built on the lake.. the lake is literally 100 feet from the back of the patio, all that separates us is a greenbelt of trees. I'm so excited. The roof is just being put on the one that we are purchasing, so it won't be ready until Novemeber 24th, but I guess it's a nice birthday present/xmas gift all in one. I'll take it!!!
Here is the link to the area if U want to check it out

I'm sure I will keep you updated with pics of the construction to the point that you won't want to see another picture of the place..lol.
This weekend we are going to the valley to visit with Chris's parents, we haven't seen them in a while and haven't been anywhere in a long time, we both have been working opposite shifts and long tiring backshifts. So it will be nice to go down and visit and spend some time at the cottage and with his family. Hope everyone has a great weekened, it's supposed to be nice and sunny.

House Viewing
Yesterday was my last backshift, I can't believe I got through all 7 of them. Hopefully I won't have to do them anymore this year. Today we are going to go view another house, we've been looking and viewing all week. These houses are brand new on Russell Lake West in Dartmouth, they are really nice townhouses and they are on the lake with walking trails. I love them so far, we are going to see the model home today.. oh and they have natural gas which is awesome because now I can have a gas range for the kitchen. Well I'm crossing my fingers that we like it, because we are looking to be moved in for Nov 1st. :) I am so excited, I'll keep U updated on how the viewing goes.

The Baby is on his way!!!!

Well my mother called me this past weekend, and asked me if I wanted to order my Chocolate Lab puppy... of course I want to get him, I've been waiting for that moment for a long time. My grandfathers brother breeds labs in Newfoundland, and this is the last time he is bredding his chocolate lab. Oh, my god I'm gonna have a puppy in a few months, I can't believe it. Needless to say the push for a house is on now. The baby dog will be ready for Chris and I in November, so we are searching for a house for the three of us :) I'm so excited, but know that they are a lot of work... but I don't care about that, they are way too cute. Well gonna go and wait for the guys to get in, so I can head home and sleep.
First Backshift
Well I made it through my first backshift, it's almost over.. now only 6 more nights to go. It isn't as hard as I expected, but I am very tired. I will sleep all day today... zzzzzzzzzzzz

1 more day
Only 1 more day and I have a few days off, I will return to work on monday night @ 12 midnight for my 7 days of backshift in a row. Not much going on in my life this month, only lots of work. Sept I have an awesome schedule so it's back to some sort of normal life again. Last night we played ball... our team won, but by a forfeit so it wasn't as fun. Although we were playing for fun the other team was fueling and it was a very brutal game. All that counts is that we won. I hit all times up to bat and had an RBI... I was pretty excited. I'm enjoying playing ball and want to get involved in more sports if I can, it's a variation on my workouts and I like it. Well hopefully this weekend we will get to the beach for a picnic and just lots of relaxation. Thank god tomorrow is friday. :) oh, and Big Brother is on tonight!!!! I'm ashamed to say that I'm addicted.

House Hunting
Well Chris and I have been looking at areas that we would be interested in buying or building a house since February. We haven't been really serious about it, just trying to decide on what area near the city would best fit both of us and our schedules. I don't want to move too far away from the city at all. We don't have a realestate agent yet, probably soon, since we want the house before xmas. It's a very frustrating process, or maybe it's just because I am so picky and know exactly what I want and cannot find anything that is remotely close to what I'm looking for. I WANT A REALLY BIG KITCHEN !!!! since I love to cook. I didn't think it was that hard to find, but apparently it is. Anyway, I'll keep everyone updated on how things go, before u know it... I'll be inviting everyone to our new house for a party :)

Today marks the first day of a 7 day stretch for me @ work. The next 3 days I am working by myself, which I am not looking forward to, but it will prove to myself how much I actually know. Well wish me luck. Hope I have a good day, and everyone have a good Natal Day weekend. Tonight is the fireworks on the Macdonald Bridge, they should be good.. last year they were awesome, well what I seen of them anyway.
Well Carly I finally got someone else into the blog scene as well, my good friend from Newfoundland Patricia , you can check out her blog @ http://patriciapenney.blogspot.com/
I love it, I wish all my friends blogged, it's the easiest way to keep in touch in our ever busy lives.

Lucky Fishtank!!!

So last night I went and bought an exercise ball, I've been wanting one for a while and finally went out last night and got one. Got it home and starting blowing it up.... man it takes forever. Anyway, I got that out of the way and starting sitting, rolling away... until I rolled backwards and HIT the FISHTANK!!!! Chris said I had a blank look on my face as I realized what I had hit... " oh my god the fishtank" I couldn't see what was going on but felt water on my face. Now let me picture it for you, I have a 33 gallon fishtank, planted with hugh rocks on a stand... and then me and the ball went crashing into the corner of the tank... the water sloshed around, the fish were dazed and confussed and Chris thought the tank was going to twist in half. It all happened in 30 seconds but I was freaking. Thank god everything stayed put and the fish are happily swiming around again... and there is no water, glass or rock on my floor or on me. What a crazy and stupid experience, needless to say the exercise ball is put where it belongs... with the exercise equipment, never to be used in the living room again. Had to say a little prayer after that experience. :) Today is gonna be HOT, HOT, HOT, Hope everyone has a good day, Thank god for AC.

Happy 28th Anniversary
I want to say Happy Anniversary today to my Mom and Dad they have been married 28 years today. I would only hope that half as many peoples marriages last that long and the world would be a better place. Anyway, not much going on with me working my last evening shift this week.. and then I finally get to relax this weekend and spend sometime with Chris. He's still not feeling well, got sick on vacation and today he feels pretty bad. Hopefully he will be better tomorrow, I want to go and get some blueberries and I've got a bunch of errans to run. Hope everyone enjoys the sun this weekend.

Back in Halifax, vacation is over !!!

Saturday evening @ 5.30 we got back in Halifax. Vacation was good, it was nice and relaxing and the weather co-operated. Lots of swiming, eating and visiting took place and of course RELAXATION :) Chris ended up not feeling well from like tuesday to saturday so that kinda sucked, but we still had a good time. It was nice to see everyone and especially my dog Kieley, well my dads dog..lol. We had a few fires lit in the firepit where we roasted marshmallows, had homemade bread toasted and good old bologna bbqd over open flame. Lots of swiming was done, and trying to stay cool and out of the sun was impossible. Hard to believe that I have to go back to work again tomorrow, but it's all good I'm working evenings so I'll get to sleep in and be home again around 10pm each nite.. not too bad. I have some pics of my parents house and garden attached, we never did any tourist stuff this year... Chris seen most of it last year. Oh, and we visited Dawn and Hannah Banana in Mount Pearl, she is growing like a weed. Going to go and fold the last load of laundry... it feels like a hundred loads. Hope everyone has a good week. Enjoy the pics :)

HOT day!!!
What a nice HOT and sunny day today was. Chris and I woke up around 10am... it was so good to sleep in and be on VACATION :) We went out and done errans this afternoon to Bayers Lake before we fly out tomorrow.. it was soooo nice outside, I couldn't wait to get back and enjoy some sun. We went for a walk on the waterfront when we got back, it was nice, there was a lot of people out and about. The cool breeze off the ocean was refreshing as well, it was a help to cool off. We ended up at the Italian place @ Bishops landing for some Gelato, we both got the Trimisu Gelato.. yummy. It was pizza on the BBQ for supper then off packing we went.. getting ready for our week in newfoundland. I'm now really sleepy, waiting for the last load of laundry to finish before I can complete the packing of the suitcases. We fly out tomorrow @ 11am and arrive in Newfoundland @ 1pm. It's supposed to be cold this week... I'm hoping things will turn around. Well that's all for now, I should be able to update while I'm away, if not see everyone next weekend. I'll have pictures and with any luck a tan!!!!!!

7 Hours until Vacation

Sitting here @ work, hoping that today isn't too busy and counting down the hours until vacation. in 7 hours i'm off until the 24th :) on sunday we are flying to newfoundland and returning on saturday the 22nd. I'm going to try to keep updating as often as possible, but you know.. all the swimming, walking the dog, bbqing and relaxation might get in the way. I'm crossing my fingers that the weather is nice, but I don't care either way.. the pool temp is like 35 degrees, so I'm sure I'll stay warm. Let the countdown continue.... 7 hours to go :)

Rain, Rain and more Rain
Despite a Rainfall warning I still needed my morning coffee. I just got back from break with Ted, we walked to Irving. I knew it was raining today and it's was gonna be heavy at times, but man we got soaked. I had my umbrella so it wasn't too bad, but I felt like a kid when the water was so high it came over my feet ... of course I'm wearing sandals so my feet are very wet. It was well worth it though, I'm addicted to the Banana bread at Irving. It's the best banana bread I have ever tasted, I have to admit even better then mine..lol. It was fresh this morning so the walk in the heavy rain was worth it. I'm ashamed to say I'm glad it's raining today, nice break from the hot sun yesterday and I'm so tired, I didn't want to play ball tonight.. well thanks to mother nature the fields are so wet the only ones out are ducks. Everyone have a good day, 1 more day until vacation :)

Long Day
So today after a long day at work Patrick and I went apartment shopping for more stuff for his new one bedroom apartment. We went shopping @ superstore on Joseph Howe Dr, it was fun. I actually got to go up and down all the houseware sections, we sent approx 2 1/2 hours there. Wow that sounds insane. Chris got off work @ 8pm so we had to be finished by then... we got back in time to pick him up. Got home and started supper.... chris lit the BBQ and I got the salad ready, what we didn't know was the PROPANE was out...lol. So the pork souvlaki had to be cooked inside on the grill, oh well by 8.15 I really didn't care how it was cooked, I was starved!!!! I'm now getting ready to relax, we are watching the Allstar Baseball game.
.. Go big Papi :) Only a few more days until vacation.. nite.
Here's a pic of Big Papi from the Boston Red Sox !!!!

Weekend in the Valley

Saturday morning we go up and ate breakfast.. homemade blueberry pancakes, bacon and coffee.. it was yummy. Then we got ready and headed for the valley to visit with Chris's parents, well his father anyway. Chris's mom was in Cape Breton for the weekend. We stopped along the way and visited Chris's brother and Lacey and there new house, very nice. We arrived in Anapolis around 3 o'clock and hung out on the back deck where I finally got some sun, I actually got a minor sunburn. Then we decided to go for a drive through the valley, get an ice cream then back to the house for supper. After a nice supper we headed out again, this time to the cottage on the lake for some relaxation. It was beautiful, we got to watch the sunset, I drank a bottle of wine and then we retired for the night. This morning we got up in search of some strawberries at the U-pick but it was closed and it started to rain.. so no strawberries, but the raspberries will be soon out so YUM. I'm very tired so just relaxing now... this time next weekend I'll be in newfoundland on vacation :)
